About
Italian Tutoring Services for students and/or travel! With 6 years of teaching experience of the Italian Language and Culture, 3 years of study in ESL, and 16 years of general foreign language study, language has shaped my life in more ways than I ever could have imagined possible. I spent 6 weeks studying the Italian language and culture in Rome, and successfully organized an immersion experience for a select group of 35 high school students. We spent 9 days traveling from Milan to Rome, soaking up the language and culture in the most natural environment. Though life has taken me in a new direction, I still enjoy helping students to enhance their foreign language skills and gain a greater appreciation for language, culture and travel through practical applications of the content as well as activities that appeal to their individual interests. I am well-versed in current foreign language curriculum standards and expectations, and have a wide variety of resources at my fingertips.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
An introductory phone call is important to get to know the individual student's academic background, needs, interests, and preferred method(s) of learning. I also prefer to speak with a parent or guardian so I can gain additional perspective on the needs and expectations for our tutoring sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Italian Education, a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, and have attended several conferences and meetings via the Delaware Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (DECTFL).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20/hr for 1-2 days a week
$15/hr for 3-4 days a week
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ages k-12 in a variety of settings, from mixed, integrated classrooms with 30-36 students, to smaller honor's and AP level classes.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should always consider the following:
1) Am I more of a visual learner? Auditory learner? Kinesthetic (i.e. physical manipulations/movement/games)? Reading/writing?
2) What are 2 areas where I am succeeding in my studies, and 2 areas where I need assistance/accomodations?
3) How much time do I have to dedicate to tutoring/extra help? (be realistic - if you are involved in several extracurricular activies or have a part-time job, your teacher should know about it)
