Olivia was very patient and kind with my son who has A.D.D. She helped him tremendously with reading larger words and most importantly comprehension. Olivia incorporated learning games to help keep my child’s attention while learning. I definitely recommend Olivia for your child’s tutoring.

I’m a certified teacher and Reading Specialist in Delaware. I have taught over 4,000 students online since 2019. I love the freedom that tutoring offers for parents. Whether you homeschool or work outside of the house, having one less thing to worry about can free up so much time.
Many parents that I’ve worked with tried to teach their child how to read. But then they noticed teaching their own child just didn’t work out (IYKYK) or they simply didn’t have the time. As a mom, I understand the never ending to-do list and not having time or patience to dedicate to reading practice. This is why I offer my tutoring services. I love teaching children how to read and helping parents like you.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
[Tutoring is available online.] New students receive an online free reading assessment and will play a “get to know you” game. Next, the assessment results and future goals will be discussed with the parent/guardian. After that, we work together toward those goals. Students will have monthly access to a digital library. And, parents/guardians will receive quarterly progress reports but can ask for feedback at any time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
* Master's in Elem Edu (K-6)
* Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist Certification
* Currently, working as a reading interventionist for a local charter school

* $30-35 per lesson
* 1-2 lessons per week is recommended
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching English and homeschoolers who needed extra support in reading. I became passionate about helping struggling readers and began my training as a reading interventionist.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary students. Some had ADHD or dyslexia.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently started working with an EL student who was very shy and didn't want to speak. After weeks of encouragement, she began to open up and has made great progress!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't worry about doing things perfectly, just try your best.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about how school or their life will be different when they have the skills to read.
