About

I have taught over 4,000 students online and I love to incorporate games and activities into our lessons. I use virtual classrooms or gameboards to help increase engagement and excitement. The perk of 1:1 tutoring is that I can create a more personable experience by added my students' interests to the lessons.

I love the growth I get to see that can't be measured with an assessment. I've been able to see shy and insecure students become more excited about learning and reading. It's such an important lesson to learn at a young age: trying your best, even if it's hard.

    Frequently asked questions

[Tutoring is available online.] New students receive an online free reading assessment and will play a “get to know you” game. Next, the assessment results and future goals will be discussed with the parent/guardian. After that, we work together toward those goals. Students will have monthly access to a digital library. And, parents/guardians will receive quarterly progress reports but can ask for feedback at any time.

I started teaching ESL and homeschoolers who needed extra support in reading. I became passionate about helping struggling readers and began my training as a reading interventionist.

I have worked with elementary students. Some had ADHD or dyslexia.

I recently started working with an EL student who was very shy and didn't want to speak. After weeks of encouragement, she began to open up and has made great progress!

Don't worry about doing things perfectly, just try your best.

They should think about how school or their life will be different when they have the skills to read.
