About
I am passionate about helping people discover their inner superpowers and realizing what it is that makes them special. I approach teaching through connecting with students as a human, first, then learning how they learn best and teaching material in a way that clicks for them. I absolutely love watching the "lightbulb" go off for kiddos when they begin to comprehend what they are learning and the confidence that follows. I am patient, kind and thorough - whatever it takes, I will do.
I have always excelled in the Language Arts all through K-12 and throughout college. In my spare time, I enjoy creative writing, reading and learning. I am very much a "student of life". I have a dual Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Law/Justice Studies, which I obtained within 3 years instead of the traditional 4. I have experience in mentoring at-risk youth in the foster-care system and school-to-prison pipeline. Part of my mentorship requirements was to teach youth emotional management techniques and assist them in their court-required community service; many of which included an essay.
I am confident that by the time your child and I stop working with each other, that they will feel more confident not only in their reading + writing abilities - but also in themselves.
I can't wait to hear from you and discuss how I can assist your student in learning in the way that works best for them. Thank you for your time and consideration.
