About
I'm a high school hsitory teacher, with an emphasis on world history. I'm accustomed to working with students who have diverse needs or learning styles and can accommodate these preferences. I strive to make history fun by making it relatable.
I enjoy making history relevant for students. Too often students disengage because they don't see how the content impacts them or has shaped their world. I strive to change this.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My undergraduate degree is in Social Studies Education and I recently finished a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I currently work as a high school history teacher.
How did you get started teaching?
My mom, her sisters, and my siblings are all teachers so it just sort of fit!
What types of students have you worked with?
All students! I've worked with students with limited English proficiency, honors students, students with disabilities, and a variety of motivation levels!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Not necessarily a question, but try to be specific when asking for help. Is there a type of activity that makes learning more challenging? Are you getting stuck on terms or concepts? The more data a teacher has the less troubleshooting she has to do. BUT don't let this discourage you from asking for help--it's not necessary, just helpful.
