About

Bonjour! My internship at McDaniel College’s International Programs Office and work experiences as an Au Pair in Nice, France and Dedicated Aide at The DC International School reinforced my desire to create positive social change through individual student interaction. These, in combination with my experiences studying, living, and working abroad in France, have instilled in me a constant thirst for foreign language education.

After four years of French language studies in high school, I decied to study abroad for a semester in college with the AIFS Intensive French Language and Culture Program in Grenoble, France, while living with the best French host parents imaginable. After developing a passion for language learning and multcultural education, I conducted a year-long research project on the positive mental and social effects of bilingualism on second-generation immmigrants in the U.S. and wrote my senior thesis on their relationshipship to academic achievement and attainment.

Post-gradation, I accepted a position at McDaniel College working as a full-time assistant to the Head Women's Volleyball Coach while simultaneously studying as a full-time graduate student in McDaniel's Curriculum and Instruction master's program and volunterring in the college's CEO office (Center of Excellence and Opportunitity,) specifically within their study abroad department. After McDaniel, I moved back to France for a year to work as an au pair and continue learning French. As an au pair, I took care of and practiced English with a multicultural and trilingual child while personally attending French language courses with fellow au pairs form all over the world.

Since returning to the United States, I accepted a position at DC International School where I currently serve as a Dedicated Aide. In this position, I assist in the supervision and instruction of students with disabilities or special needs in a regular or special education classroom; observe and document student process; and implement plans for instruction. I am passionate about the French language, positively influencing the next generation, and inspiring cultural sensitivty through foreign language and multicultural education.
