Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first get to know the background of the student regarding the subject. Thereafter, I give the student some light quizes to understand his weakness and strength. We then start building on slowly, beginning from the learners strengths.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Bsc Chemistry graduate (fisrt class honors). I am currently a Masters student and am actively involved in teaching higher diploma and certificate students in chemistry.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No. My pricing rates depends on the students ability to pay.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching has always been my passion. I love to see weak students overcome their weaknesses and grow to stonger individuals academically.
I begun teaching secondary school students in Chemistry. It was while I was teaching the students that I realized they have different capabilities requiring different tailored efforts to pass.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school, certificate and higher diploma students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advice the student to ensure the teachers' capabilities match with his/her weaknesses. The teacher should be in a position to help the learner work out the weaknesses.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. Can I really match with the teachers pace?
2. Does the teacher understand my education background?
3. Does the teacher have more time to see how I do my assignments?
