Tutoring By Kaeli
About
I recently graduated from college (magna cum laude) with an honors degree in Biochemistry and a minor in English. During college, I engaged in multiple tutoring positions in both science and English topics. As a biochemistry major, I am skilled in many science topics including basic biology and chemistry and upper-level biochemistry material. As an English minor, I have significant experience editing essays and critically analyzing literature.
I currently work for the organization, Tutor.com, which is a private, online-only tutoring service for many colleges and universities. This position has helped me perfect my tutoring approach and further develop my tutoring skill set.
I will work one-on-one with students to identify the problematic material and explain complex topics in an easy to understand way. I can work with students to develop study plans, get organized, and/or implement new study strategies.
In school, I excelled academically. Academic learning comes fairly naturally to me, but I understand how frustrating and discouraging it can be to feel lost and behind in class. I love education and I get so excited when a student finally understands the material they were previously struggling with. I will work relentlessly to find new and creative solutions until the student feels confident about the subject material

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I like to sit down with the student and spend some time learning about them and the material they are learning. I ask the student to tell me what they are struggling with, and I ask them to think about some goals--what would you like to accomplish during these tutoring sessions?
After getting a better understanding of the student and their needs, we will work together to develop a study plan.
I like when students come to tutoring sessions with questions prepared. I will reexplain material that the student is struggling with, and depending on the subject, do some practice problems.
I generally like to give students specific goals to work toward during the time between tutoring sessions.
I have outlined a typical tutoring experience, yet I am very flexible and will adapt each session around the course material and the needs of each student.
