About
I like to think of myself as an "academic coach." I love to help students get organized, learn their strengths and weaknesses, and overcome academic challenges so they can do their best work. I am also all about focussing on each student's personality and interests as a way to make schoolwork more enjoyable. A sense of humor always helps too!
I have experience working with students in preschool through high school, and I enjoy helping them develop better work habits, and finding new ways to approach the things they are struggling with in order to minimize stress and frustration and maximize success in school.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find the best way to help a new student is to work on homework together so I can see how the student approaches their work, and then work together on strategies to improve, especially in the areas they find challenging. As mentioned, I also spend time getting to know the student's personality and interests in order to form a positive relationship and to make learning and schoolwork more fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters degree in Education
Current teaching certification in CT (K-6)
10+ years experience teaching in Greenwich Public Schools in kindergarten, first, third, and fifth grades. 3.5 years as an aide in a high school resource room, working with students with learning disabilities. 1 year of homebound tutoring for children in elementary, middle, and high school. Also a mom of four kids who have all gone through the Greenwich Public School System, including a son with ADHD, who inspired the idea of a need for academic coaching, and remains my number one client!
