I was a premed major for most of my college career. I fell in love with teaching during my gap year prepping for my MCAT. As the son of a doctor who has seen the impact medicine can have on someone's life, I would say the only thing that has come close to having the same impact is teaching and seeing my students succeed and grow.     Mr. DeRose is an excellent teacher and tutor, he pushes and inspires his students while also remaining realistic in an extremely refreshing way. He knows exactly how to connect with and motivate all different kinds of students and learners. Personally, he helped me to further develop my scientific knowledge and inquiry skills, along with inspiring me to truly appreciate and enjoy what I was learning through his clear passion for the subjects he teaches. Mr. DeRose prepared me for an AP exam where I went from completely confused to earning a 4, all in two months. Additionally, he helped me to expand and evolve my science research projects through offering unique perspectives and advice based on his experiences. Overall, I worked with Mr. DeRose for the last two years of high school, and I strongly believe that I would not have been as successful in my classes and on my exams without his help.
