All Chemistry Tutor
About
I love chemistry. I have a BS from the University of Dayton and I worked in the industry as an analytical chemist for American Cyanamid. While raising two children I decided to work as a substitute teacher in the local high schools in Connecticut. Realizing that I loved sharing he magic of chemistry with students I got my teaching certification in CT. I have taught in 3 different high schools until I found my home at Shelton HS. I taught all levels of chemistry for 17 years before retiring.
One day while I was preparing a demonstration a student in the study hall in my room said, “you must really love what you are doing.” I looked up and asked him why he said that; he replied because your eyes really lit up during the demonstration.
There is a lot of difficult math in chemistry. I always gave my students 2 or 3 different methods to solve a problem. I also share short cuts learned from my years of work in the chemical industry and teaching.
