Targeted Test Prep
About
I have worked in the test prep industry for over 15 years. I started tutoring shortly after graduating from Yale and continued tutoring through grauduate school and as part of my professional life. My extensive experience allows me to break standardized test questions down into specific question types and provide strategies for eachy type. Since every standardized test (SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT) is a known quantity, it is essential to master individual elements, rather than preparing in a general way. General preparation would be effective if the tests varied significantly from edition to edition, but, fortunately for the dedicated student, they do not.
In addition to breaking tests down into question types, it is also vital to provide students with tutoring tailored to their ability level. Many students take SAT (or other standardized test) classes that waste their time by covering what they already know and failing to address individual needs. Tutoring avoids this pitfall, and the tutoring I offer makes the most of your time and money.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students achieve their academic and college admissions goals. In addition to test prep tutoring I also offer academic help with various high-school and college level subjects.
Standardized tests and challenging classes do not have to be anxiety-inducing wastes of time. Preparing for a standardized test or taking a class out of your comfort zone can help develop sound reasoning skills and prepare a students for the next step in his/her academic career.
