Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask what book they are using, assess their foundation skills-- strong? or weak? I review their vocabulary and expressions, having them write on index cards and teach them to study aloud at home--reciting aloud is learning twice! I also play study partner, taking turns reciting the material with them. And each thing they do well, I am sure to tell them I am pleased.
My joy in life is teaching and seeing a student succeed!

A high school student who was failing French came to me for help, early in the semester. I organized her with index cards, studying out loud at home, quizzing her in our session and then having her quiz me. At the end of the semester she received a a B plus. That was a thrill!
