K-5 Math And Reading Tutor

My name is Anna Gallacher and I have been teaching elementary education and special education students for the past 6 years. I am currently a special education teacher in Bethel, CT where I focus on teaching students reading and writing skills. I enjoy pulling my students into small groups and really focusing in on skills they need while highlighting their strengths. I love working with students to help them accomplish their reading and math goals. I use a very hands on approach when teaching both reading and math. In my eyes, learning should be fun and engaging for students. A hands on approach is key to motivating students and allowing them to explore while they learn.

I have both an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a masters degree in Special Education from Manhattan College. A fun fact about me is that at Manhattan College I played softball at the Division I level for four years. I am also graduating in May 2019 with my 092 Certificate for Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University.
