About

I follow 8 key points to achieve success in the college admissions process:

2. Standardized test planning

3. Application assistance

4. Essay writing and proofreading

5. Interview practice

6. Extracurriculuar activities and community service

Through careful individual attention to each of these 8 points, I help demystify the college process, create a strategic game plan with you, and assist you each step of the way.

I live and breathe counseling. I have been a School Counselor in the public school sector for the past 10 years. I particularly enjoy seeing my students grow as individuals and learners. Establishing a trusting and open relationship with my students is the premise by which I conduct my practice. There is no greater joy than celebrating alongside my students for every small and large accomplishment. I look forward to each of these moments with you and your child!

    Frequently asked questions

My first session involves getting to know your child.  I will spend time learning about who your chils is personally so that we can form a trusting and natural connection together.   I will also ask questions to gain a better understanding of your child's academic strengths and weaknesses.  Learning about your child's school district and couse offerings will be important as well.  Lastly, we will discuss you and your family's needs are and review the services that would best meet those needs.  Sessions can either be at a central location, your home (within a reasonable driving distance) or by Skype/Facetime/phone.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Education as a School Counselor.  I am certified as a School Counselor in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and a Work-Based Learning Coordinator and Teacher Assistant in New York.

For the past 10 years, I have worked as a School Counselor.  I am currently a School Counselor/Dean of Students for a top-performing public school in Westchester County, New York.

In order to provide my students with the most relevant and current information, I regularly meet with college admissions representatives and directors through school visits, workshops, programs, and travel.  Throughout the year, I often travel to a number of colleges to not only see the campus and learn more about any new developments, but I also to network with college counterparts on the other side of the desk.

I was eighteen years old when things clicked for me. Surrounded by college flags, I found myself sitting in the waiting area of the counseling office waiting to talk to my high school counselor.  He had a major impact on my high school experience, and with only a few months left of high school, he continued to be my rock and guru in the college process.  Daydreaming, I wondered what career would be a good match for me.  Ironically, my dream job was all around me.  It was at this point I inquired about the field.  I blazed through college in three years and began studying for my masters the year after.  I was incredibly fortunate to conduct my internship with my counselor where I learned from, what I deemed, "the best."  Since then, I have modeled my practice after him and found my relationships with students to be trusting, open, and honest.

I work with every kind of student. Some of my students have had their eyes set on Ivy League colleges while other students sought a college with a nurturing and comprehensive support program.  The vast majority of my students fall somewhere on this continuum.  My students have successefully been admitted to Ivy League, highly-selective, and public and private colleges nationally and internationally.  Through careful review of your child's goals, we will develop a comprehensive plan to achieve success in the college admissions process.
