About

I have been a private tutor since 2010. Over the years, I've focused exclusively on high school math and have full mastery of every topic.

My most memorable student was failing trigonometry (50's), the last math class she needed to graduate. She had no plans for college, she didn't think she could get in. After 3 months and a crushing 87 on her final, her parents reached out to let me know that she started preparing college applications over the summer.

Mykola is a very knowledgeable patient tutor. He very quickly grasped my son’s weaknesses and focussed on strengthening his basic understanding of the principles of math before progressing to other topics in the curriculum.
My son has greatly benefitted from his lessons with Mykola and has gone from struggling to being at the top of his class this year. As we approached exams, Mykola focused more on exam techniques and my son felt prepared on the day of the exams. Mykola has always been prepared for each lesson and has made math and learning fun! We would highly recommend him to anyone!

Big shoutout to Nick, Alexs geometry tutor – this guys a rock star. Seriously, hes got this way of making all those geometry puzzles make sense for Alex. Nicks laid-back, tunes into Alexs style of learning, and suddenly, geometry isnt this big stress factor anymore. Massive thanks to Nick for not just teaching but making it kinda cool. If your kids wrestling with geometry, Nicks your guy.

Mykola is an amazing tutor. My daughter went from 70s to 90s in just a few weeks and understands geometry better than she ever did. Not only did Mykola help my daughter with math, the way he has taught her to approach test problems has given her immense confidence in other subjects. Im so thankful I found this tutor and will never hesitate to recommend him! Thank you!

    Frequently asked questions

We go through old tests, quizzes, homeworks to discover how the student progressed through the current year. We examine short falls and misunderstandings to better gauge where the learning will start. As math is a compounding subject, it is always best to go back and fix issues from earlier in the student's math career before pushing forward. Once we have a plan set, we review each topic in succession and tie it into the current work being assigned.

I majored in Mathematics at Stony Brook University and have tutored privately for over 10 years. I've had many successful students who attended Ivy League level schools including Cornell and Harvard.

Lessons range from $80 - $100 based on the math subject being tutored.

I started teaching in college when a friend asked me to help him prepare for the pre-calculus final at the end of our first year of college. He did so well that he recommended I do this as a business so I took his advice and ran with it.

I have worked almost exclusively with high school students. Specializing in this way has made me extremely proficient in HS subjects.

Have a free lesson first, maybe two, just to see how well you understand what the tutor is saying and how they're explaining the topic. Not every tutor knows how to present material the way the student will understand so make sure you find one who is well versed and has the experience to properly present the topic in a way the individual will easily grasp.

Have I historically under performed in math? When did my grades start falling? Was it a result of not understading or perhaps there were days missed? How often will I require homework help and when are my tests typically given? Am I looking to prepare for a specific test or am I looking for better understanding to have a foundation for year to come?
