What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First of all get to know each other by answering the student's questions and asking about the student's background and goals. Set some ground rules about how the student learns and the student's expectations. E.g., Help with homework, reinforcing the classroom lessons, etc.
Next get started with the first lesson to learn the realities of how to teach the student.
