About
I was an Art Educator for the Barry & Florence Friedberg JCC for 5 years and taught for Success Academy Charter School. I taught grades K-6th. I am knowledgeable in many areas of visual expression, from drawing and painting to photography and printmaking. Since I am a working and exhibiting artist, I have inspired students to create collages, paper mache masks, acrylic paintings, ceramic sculptures, and sketches with charcoal pencils. It was very rewarding to have my older students come back to class during their free time, asking for guidance with their latest projects, and offering to assist their younger peers in my class.
My passion for art started very early. When I was 3 I started drawing, and my mother saw that I had an all-consuming interest in art, and enrolled me in classes at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. By the age of six, I received a scholarship to study in their children’s program. It was extremely gratifying to be given such a great opportunity at such a young age by a very reputable institution. It has inspired me to want to give back to others.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a prospect, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a rapport. At this point in time, students have potentially struggled with various topics, so the importance of instilling confidence in them before any tutoring begins is essential to their success. Nevertheless, prior to scheduling sessions, I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s). We work hand in hand to build their specialized plan of action. Students create a detailed description of their current situation and their desired results. Next, we come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the student, but many plans include some sort of accommodation to pre and post-session communication in order to track progress.
