    Ive had six lessons with Duha so far. I can safely say she knows how to teach: I have homework appropriate for my Arabic level, she answers all my questions with competence and joy, and, most importantly, we talk a lot during our lessons mostly in Egyptian Arabic to improve my speaking ability and my vocabulary. You shouldnt imagine boring lessons, not at all. We talk about important and yet funny topics!

    Duha has been teaching me Arabic and especially Egyptian colloquial Arabic for two weeks now and I’m very pleased to see how I’m gaining more confidence in speaking and dealing with situations in everyday life. This goes especially for idioms and some culturally bound expressions that I struggled with since the beginning but thanks to Duha, the pieces are finally starting to fall in place! The classes have been very casual, and Duha is very easy-going, so you’ll feel very comfortable to bring up any topic or questions that you are struggling with – no matter how silly or inconvenient! Also, Duha is very patient and flexible which was great when I had to reschedule because of work. As for the teaching materials, we have mainly talked about music (lyrics), Egyptian Culture (YouTube videos) and used materials that she had prepared herself (really helpful!). An additional plus is the fact that she is an expert in Modern Standard Arabic and can easily navigate between dialects and the standard variety. So, if you are looking for an easy-going, friendly and competent teacher, Duha is your gal!
