Mara's Tutoring

Hi!  My name is Mara.  I'm a summa cum laude graduate of Front Range Community College with an associate of arts in communication.  Communication was a good major for me because I love learning about people.  I look forward to getting to know each of the students I tutor. I understand that reading can be a challenge for some students, but I hope to help them conquer that challenge and find enjoyment in it.  

I teach reading using the Barton system.  For the past several months I have gained experience using Barton through volunteer tutoring.  I also have over a year of experience tutoring through volunteering with another organization that was focused on more general help with schoolwork rather than specifically for students with dyslexia.  Both volunteering experiences have given me experience with working with kids.
