We have been tutoring with Corrine for three years now. She has been a huge asset in helping our third grader who has dyslexia and ADHD keep up with school. I would recommend Corrine to anyone looking for tutoring services.

She enjoys going to tutoring because it is different from what she does in school. It is fun and engaging. She shares her spelling lessons with us to show us what she has learned. This is giving her more confidence with reading and writing.

Our experience with ProgressiveK12 has been fantastic! Corrine takes the time to understand the strengths as well as the challenges faced by each student she serves. I appreciate how she recognizes the unique personalities and interests of her students. I am impressed by the new reading program she has introduced to both of my children and am eager to watch their abilities and confidence improve! We have already noticed improvement in the few sessions following her implementation of the Orton-Gillingham program. We are all encouraged to see the results of future intervention.

We are so pleased with the progress our daughter has made with Corrine! Through creative and interactive lesson plans, Corrine has taught her how to prepare for writing assignments and organize her work. These skills have boosted our daughters confidence and overall enjoyment of writing. We would recommend Corrine to any of our friends.

I just got my MAPS scores back and they were the highest that they have ever been! I felt confident and good when I was taking my test. (Student tested in the higher achievement area).

    Frequently asked questions

I give a free 60 minute consultation. During our first visit, I will do a records review (tests, writing samples, IEP's, etc...). I will do informal assessments (if needed). Lastly, we'll go over scheduling, pricing and goals.

I started as special education teacher in the public school system. I was so frustrated with the red tape, the lack of professional development, the lack of educational growth from my students with the district provided curriculum, and finally, the lack of connection with my families were frustrating, so I started ProgressiveK12.

Now, I can use researched based best practices, and your child's strengths to teach them in a variety of subjects.

I have worked with a variety of students including:

    -Twice exceptional

    -ADHD

    -Autism

    -Gifted

    -Learning disabled

    -Dyslexia/Dysgraphia

    -Neurotypical

    -Other Abled students

I have learned  a great deal from students but one moment I love was when I was teaching subtraction to a Gifted Kindergardner. She and I were using a computer based program that allows students to draw circles and squares. I was writing the problem in a vertical direction. After two problems, she copies her third problem on the interactive board hortizonally and asks, "Does this mean the same thing?"

The reason I love this moment was that it reminded me of the importance of visual space. This was a gifted student and she was able to make the connection between horizontal and vertical operations without any support.

Ask your tutor the following questions:

    1. How long have you been teaching?

    2. Do I get reports to know how my child is doing?

    3. Will you work with my child's teacher to ensure her success in the classroom?

When thinking about tutoring, the best question to answer is, what goal(s) do I want to accomplish?
