Hello I am Heather Bicknell and I have a passion for teaching. I am a retired Professional photographer/graphic designer. I am a former Tutor Teacher. I offer tutoring services that cater to a wide range of needs; including art, reading, writing, and photography as well! Whether you're seeking support in test preparation or aiming to boost confidence in academic pursuits. My one-on-one approach ensures that each session is tailored to your unique goals. Empowering students to achieve their best is my ultimate mission. I achieve this by using positive reinforcement with my students, motivating them by setting small goals and remaining consistent. I have worked with special needs children for a decade. I often work with students with ADHD and learning difficulties.

I designed/implemented the first after school tutoring program in my area. I had 13-16 children daily which forced me to implement a program that would impact everyone and still foster confidence and achievement. I am excited to connect with your child and watch them excel in their studies. I design many of my own materials for my students. I use positive reinforcement as a teaching method and thoroughly enjoy connecting with my students. I believe in fostering independence and responsibility in my students . I am often ask what are the rewards? That depends on the interests of my student. I am a retired photographer /graphic designer, therefore recently I have been putting students in digital backgrounds. I have included a couple below.
