Patrick Sparks

Detail-oriented problem solver with over 5 years experience creating full stack projects. I specialize in Taking Care of Business (TCOB). I can excel in any framework on the front-end or back, including MongoDB, or any relational database. I am very skilled across all modern stacks and can create functional and beautiful applications on my own or as part of a team. I have plenty of other assets including: Python, PHP, Dart, Rust, Ruby, and virtually any backend language/framework you can think of. I also have a decent sized chunk of knowledge when it comes to cloud everything, particularly AWS and am working on achieving the AWS Professional Solutions Architect certificate. I also have experience with GCP and Azure, including application development and cloud migrations.

I am likable, or have been told for what that's worth, but when you work with me you are priority number 1. I also always meet students where they are at skill wise, and make frequent alterations to lesson plans and goal posts. Everyone learns at a different pace, in a different way, and it's all good. I genuinely believe -- that when most instructors claim a student is unteachable, or not bright, or behind the curve or whatever -- it is in fact the teacher's fault. Teaching is just communicating, and everyone communicates differently. And if there is an unbudging and unaware teacher pointing fingers at a student, I highly doubt they are communicating effectively with that student. The student might be very bright, skilled, and regardless I think has all the potential in the world. I firmly believe that it is the responsibility of the teacher, just as much as the student, to TEACH the material. The students are expected to put in effort when it gets hard to push through, but the teacher is so valuable if they put the same focus, work, and effort into efficiently communicating with an individual.
