More Than Mandarin
About
Ni hao (Hello)! Welcome to my bio! I was born and raised in Taiwan then moved to the states to pursue a college degree. On top of being very familiar with the language and the traditional writing, I am also enthusiastic about teaching the culture of Taiwan/Mandarin! I've taught students in all levels - from 4 yr old to elementary, to middle school, to college students and adults. I've tutored at a college tutoring center with multiple students at a time, one-on-one sessions, and had taught in private Mandarin schools in Las Vegas and Denver.
If you are someone who is an American born Chinese that is looking to improve pronunciation and conversation, but not looking for HSK level of study, you are looking at the right place!
Many students are intimidated by Mandarin pronunciation and tonality, I've developed a technique that makes it much easier to grasp and understand.
I design my curriculums around what is relevant to students' goals and interests, therefore, learning a language is much more fun and you will be able to utilize it! Please feel free to reach out to me, and I will prepare a curriculum and program tailored to you after learning what's important!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I design my curriculums around what is relevant to students' goals and interests, therefore, learning a language is much more fun and you will be able to utilize it! A 15 minutes initial introductory call will be scheduled, I'd be asking students a couple of questions regarding their experience in language learning to get to know their learning styles and expectations. Once I have a general idea, I'll start preparing for students' curriculums. I have an open door policy for students' feedback, it's one of the most direct and effective ways to ensure students stay engaged and learn what matters to them.
