About
I am just retiring as a college chemistry instructor of 15 years. I have also tutored chemistry for both high school and college students (CU, UCCS, etc.) over the years, so I know the course work and have many of the current textbooks. I also have resources such as worksheets and practice exams on probably any topic you will have in chemistry.
My price may be higher than some offers that you may receive, but if you send me information and/or worksheets a day before a tutoring session, I do prepare ahead so that the hour session is more efficient and effective. In other words, you hopefully will learn more, because I have more time to explain the concepts and develop the understanding of them during the tutoring session. I can, of course, solve your homework problems, but as an experienced educator, I can step you through the concepts and lead you through the logic of the solutions so that you can understand the solution processes for exams when similar concepts are tested with different questions and approaches.
Currently, I am tutoring remotely, primarily using WebEx audio/video due to the COVID situation. I am fully equipped for remote instruction. I have been instructing both in the classroom and also online for many years, so online teaching is second nature to me. Since last March 2020, I had been almost exclusively instructing remotely at CCD (Community College of Denver).
Education wise, I do have a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Illinois.
I have loved working with students in chemistry classes over the past 15 years. I can, of course, solve homework problems, but as an experienced educator, I really enjoy stepping through the concepts and the logic of the solutions so that students can understand the solution processes for exams where the same or similar concepts are tested with different questions and approaches.
