Science Tutor
About
Throughout my education (Bachelor's, two Master's and current Doctorate work) I have developed a passion for learnign and teaching. My love of knowledge gives me a caring, creative and inspired approach to helping students perform at their maximum potential. Along with sucess in their studies I strive to foster enjoyment and self motivated skills in learning for all of my students. Being a private tutor as well as working for organizations has given me both the freedom to develop highly effective protocols as well as learn well established structures in the industry.
I love sharing a passion for learning. The joy I see in pupils that comes from understanding a difficult topic, discovering how information can be applied to the world, or just proving to oneself that they can achieve academic goals, drives me everytime I get to work with students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student follows these steps:
1) Informal introduction. This is a time to develop a relationship with my student. Learn candidly who they are, what they enjoy doing, and get an idea of how they will best learn.
2) Develop goals. I next ensure that a set list of goals and deadlines are established. Tests, projects and overarching results that are expected from working together.
3) Decide on a schedule. Every student is different in the amount of "facetime" they need/want. I work with the student to advise and decide what the best schedule is going to be (bi-weekly, daily, or any even 'on-call' with monthly check ins). I attempt to make it as easy as possible for the student to have structure but not be overwhelmed and also know they can access me at any time for questions.
4) Learn! From here we will begin with our outlined plan. I ensure that weekly I check in with a student via email to ensure we are on track. Adjustments to the schedule can be made at any time (more or less face meetings, email check ins, etc.)
