I have completed my requirements for a Ph.D in Educational Psychology with a conferral date in December 2019. I defended my dissertation on August 23, 2019.
I have tutored for courses in psychology and psychological research methodology/statistics since 2011, but with an increased focused since 2015.
When I meet with students, I first try to understand what they want to accomplish in tutoring sessions and how I can be of assistance. Then we will plan out what steps are needed to accomplish the goal. I ask for materials for a session with a couple of days notice so I can plan plenty of examples and applications of the content at hand.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically ask for a little background about the student and their goals for the tutoring session(s). I then ask about assignments or particular course issues so I can plan detailed sessions. I typically ask for a two day window when scheduling so I have time to prepare examples and to look over any assignments they have due.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in psychology. I have completed all substantive requirements, including dissertation, for my Ph.D. in educational psychology. The degree will be conferred in December 2019.
I have served as instructor of record for several courses in psychology, as well as a teaching assistant in research methods and statistics courses outside of psychology.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge around $50 per hour, but I am open to discussion on pricing given how much effort is needed for the tutoring sessions
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a supplemental instructor for a research methods cours during my undergraduate training.
