Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start out by getting to know my student and finding what they'd like to accomplish literarily. In my editing process I insist on maintaining my client's voice (and humor) while at the same time bringing out a more polished, often less wordy version. I'm also a teacher so when we go over my edited version I explain what I've done and why. This includes introducing new vocabulary as well as teaching my students some basic principles that will improve their writing skills not only for what we're currently working on but for any of their future writing endeavors.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Creative Writing and Literature. I've edited books, professional papers and published twenty five articles for a magazine out of the Hamptons in N.Y. I've taken a graduate narrative writing course
through Stanford University as well as an editing course at D.U. and received a 4.0 from both.
