I have over 18 years experience working with children as a Montessori teacher. Because I am Montessori-certified, the majority of the concepts which I teach use concrete materials for students to work with in order to gain the skills they need. The Montessori method stresses meeting the needs of each individual student by assessing where they are and using or creating materials to meet their needs. My enthusiasm for learning helps students to feel confident and understand the skills quickly.

I am an Orton-Gillingham (OG) trained tutor. The Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction was developed in the early-20th century. It is language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive, and flexible. The Orton-Gillingham Approach has been in use since the 1930s. An intensive, sequential phonics-based system teaches the basics of word formation before whole meanings. The method accommodates and utilizes three learning modalities, or pathways, through which people learn—visual, auditory and kinesthetic.

I really enjoy the advantage of teaching in a one-to-one setting and I feel that my patience, sense of humor, diligence, and educational knowledge makes me a great tutor. I am eagerly looking forward to working with your children.
