Jay's Math Tutoring

I help students understand the concepts behind the math they're doing, rather than memorize processes by rote. I want them to have solid fundamental skills that they can build on as they learn new material. As a tutor who has worked with a variety of high schoolers throughout the year, I've seen how valuable a deeper understanding of math concepts is.

I enjoy helping students gain an understanding of math that helps them feel more confident and less frustrated with their work. I listen to my students so I can understand where they're coming from, what they understand and what they don't yet. Having this understanding of my students' perspective helps me find the best way to work with them and improve their skills and understanding.
