About
I'm an awesome Spanish tutor because I'm so passionate about the language! I have absolutely loved learning Spanish over the past 8 years and love sharing my passions with other students. Language is so important and speaking multiple languages is such an amazing skill to have! My experience learning in the classroom in both undergrad and graduate school are really helpful because I know all the tips and tricks for learning tricky grammar lessons and remembering vocabulary. My experience abroad (in Spain for a semester, Ecuador for two months, and a variety of trips to the Dominican Republic) also have given me the experience I need to understand multiple dialects and practice my skills learned in-class

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to first see what my student would like to get out of a session. Are you a student in the grades K-12th or a college student? Are you an adult who would like to learn the language on their own or are you enrolled in the class? Is your goal to get a certain grade or to learn more grammar vocab? I want to first understand what you want to get out of the session so we can work together in the most efficient way that guarantees your success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my B.A. in Spanish in May 2017 and earned my M.A. in Spanish the following year. I have tutored students in both Spanish and English for over 4 years. I worked as a Learning Service Tutor at UNCW's University Learning Center and also was an OAP Tutor for Nursing Students learning Spanish during my undergraduate career. I have taught high school Spanish and currently teach college Spanish at UNCW.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge $35 an hour but am flexible with my rate.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and levels. I've worked with elementary students in dual immersion language programs as well as created my own classes for adults who are just starting to learn the language for their work/family/traveling. I primarily have worked with high school students who want to earn a 5 on their AP Spanish exam or are trying to better their grades in class.
