Rita's Road To Math Success
About
With over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages and abilities, I have developed a system for identifying and meeting individualized goals. I have a passion for math and encourage students to find the mathematician within themselves by promoting a growth mindset. I strongly believe that anyone can succeed at math if they have a teacher who is able to teach to their unique learning style. I am patient, encouraging and have many tools to teach students in a way that will ignite their passion for math which will lead to confidence in and out of the classroom.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities. My favorite moments of tutoring come when I see the 'light' of understanding come on. My students go from being confused and doubting about their abilities to becoming confident and begin to actually seek challenges. I love to hear about how my students then apply what they've learned, not only in the classroom, but also in their lives. This is when I know that they will be able to face any math challenge that comes their way with confidence.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by getting to know my students, what do they like to do in their free time? What are their goals for life? For tutoring time? Do they, or their parents, know how they learn? Do they learn best through activities, practice, listening, or visually? Then we work together to come up with a plan that will help them to meet their tutoring goals. We talk about expectations and then work on a schedule that will work for everyone.
