One of my passions is seeing my students grow. I truly believe that if my students are not growing, then I'm not doing something right. I will continue to adjust, collaborate (with student and parents), and revamp my teaching methods until the student improves. Once I take on a new student, I am committed to their success.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe that relationships are the most important part of a teacher/student or tutor/tutee partnership. I always begin by finding fun ways to connect to the student, and to the learning.
I have extensive background in analyzing student data, and I make sure to assess student progress so I know exactly where to focus our tutoring.
I then build a plan in collaboration with the student, and with the parent, so that we're on the same page about the upcoming work we'll be doing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters degree in curriculum, and 15+ years experience as an educator. I've been a 2nd grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, and 7th grade teacher, teacher coach, staff developer and principal. I currently work as a principal of an elementary school, supporting teachers and students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I standardize my pricing to ensure fairness to all of my clients. For one hour of tutoring time, I charge $75. Depending on travel time and distance, I adjust the cost to cover travel expenses.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching as a 2nd grade teacher in North Carolina. I transitioned to 7th grade, then 4th grade, and then completed my graduate program in Teaching at Columbia University in New York City. I was born and raised in Colorado and I love to work with students here in the Denver/Aurora metro area! I love teaching and working with elementary age students!
I have worked with all types of students - children who are advanced, children who struggle, children with disabilities, children who need specific support in one area of math or one component of reading or writing.
