Ascent Cognitive Education Center offers a unique experience because not only can you receive content-based tutoring, you can also receive cognitive training to improve your ability to think and learn. Personally, I have 25 years of experience as a Licensed Educator and I am an Internationally Certified Cognitive Specialist.
I love helping students overcome hurdles and help them become more confident in who they are and their ability to succeed. I love helping them discover and pursue their dreams.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Most important thing in working with new students is getting to know who they are to better meet your needs. We have an introductory conversation via zoom, in which I ask a few questions to get to know you and your needs.
The client then as the option to also take a brain function self assessment, and a character strengths survey to help provide more resources for long-term success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Licensed Social Sciences Educator with 24 years of Experience.
BA in History with minors in Political Science, and English
MA in Multicultural Classroom Structures from Regis University
Licensed Cognitive Coach and Assessment provider for the Feuerstein Institute in Israel.
Certification in Foundations of Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania
How did you get started teaching?
I passion for teaching hooked me at a very young age. When I was in 5th grade, my teacher asked me to explain a math problem to another student because she knew I understood how to do it. When he finally got it and his face lite up I was totally hooked and new I wanted to because a teacher. Yes, I thought about other things and did different jobs at different points in time. But teaching is my passion.
