I have always excelled in any endeavor. I currently own a business but no longer go in to work every day. Therefore, I have time to spare and I would like to share my love of learning with those who seek it.

I am currently 'retired' although not really. But when I was actively in the work force I didn't think of what I did as 'work'. That is why I was able to do it successfully for so many years. I love learning, reading and sharing it with others.

    I like to start by getting to know where the student is (the student's current knowledge level) and what problems the student is facing.  Then I like to feel out how the student learns best.  Some learn by example.  Some learn by a combination of reading followed by explanation (usually to me by the student to see what they REALLY got out of the reading).  Some learn by practical application.  

    I was a certified teacher for the state of Colorado and I taught at the college level, high school level and middle school level and currently home-school my grandchildren.  My oldest (9) grandson tested out of reading testing above 6th grade expectations.  I left teaching and went to work for the VA as a rating specialist and a Decision Review Officer - both positions which involved reading medical records and making a decision on evaluations for the veteran.  In this position I was the first trainer for the Denver VA for this position and then worked the VA doctors for years to revise the rating schedule (our tool that helps us calculate the correct evaluation for payment purposes).  I was chosen for several years to be in the Who's Who book for teachers.  I love teaching and sharing my skills and knowledge with others.  I have two BA degrees and one MA degree, all in the field of science, graduating Magna cum Laude.
