About

I work one-on-one with the students and ensure that their specific educational goals are being met. I make plans with the student and offer strategies to do well within the courses they are taking. Additionally, I have been doing online and in-person tutoring for 2 years, so I have much experience working with all kinds of people in various formats of learning environments.

I enjoy teaching and focusing on what the student has particular questions about. I love seeing students thrive and grow in the academic setting because I love learning and want to share that passion with others. The flexibility of tutoring is very nice as well because it can be done online or in-person to cater to the needs of the student. Finally, I enjoy forming professional and long-lasting relationships with the students I tutor!

Zoe is the best tutor I ever had. She is knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. She helped me with so many different classes such as Pathophysiology, Intro to MedSurg, Evidence-Based Practice, Pharmacology 1 and 2, and Health Assignment. I passed all of these classes with a good grade because of her. She is on time and she always has a great plan for our sessions. She gives me time to ask my questions and she answers them all wisely. Also, she is a great tutor for Second language learners. I highly recommend her for tutoring all nursing classes.

    Frequently asked questions

I usually spend a little time getting to know the student and their learning style. Then I see where the student is struggling the most and how they would like to go about achieving their set goals. I always go with what the student says works for them and I work with the student to help them achieve their desired educational outcome.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University in Denver, CO. Additionally, I was a nursing tutor for Regis University for 2 years in their student tutoring center. I have excelled in all of my nursing courses and have a well-rounded skill set for tutoring!

I charge $25/hour session and allow for a maximum of 2 hours per day for each individual student. I allow a maximum of 10 hours of tutoring sessions per week per student. I want the time spent to be productive and useful for the student!

I was offered a tutoring position at Regis University during my Sophomore year as a peer tutor. The tutoring center was a place I regularly went as a freshman at Regis University to set a solid foundation for study skills and course material for nursing. I formed good relationships with the tutors there and was offered a position as a tutor! I have loved it ever since I started. I enjoy the one-on-one interactions with students and the professional relationship that comes from those meetings.

I have worked with adult learners from students who simply need a friend to review the information before a test to students where English is their second language to students who are dyslexic. I have worked with many different people who all have different ways of learning whether it be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. I always change the way I teach depending on the student and their unique needs.

This past year I met a student who started coming to the tutoring center regularly to see me for help. English is her second language and she had no previous healthcare experience, so everything she was learning was brand new. At first, she was struggling and failing several classes, but now, at the end of the year we only meet occasionally and she is excelling in her courses and is at the top of her class. Seeing the growth and success of this student has made me so happy and a wonderful friendship has grown from that relationship. My goal is to make it so that the student no longer needs me because that means I have done my job well.

I advise hiring a tutor who has had experience tutoring before because there is a learning curve when it comes to teaching another person what you know. Additionally, I encourage you not to give up after finding a tutor you do not particularly work well with. Everyone has a different style of teaching and there is bound to be someone out there that will meet your needs well!

Please think about these following questions:

What kind of learner am I? Visual, auditory, kinesthetic, verbal?

Where am I struggling the most? Is it test-taking skills? Study strategies? Memorization techniques? Does the material simply not make sense to you?

What are your goals? What does being successful academically look like to you?

What do you hope to get out of tutoring? What do you want your tutoring sessions to look like?
