About
I am very fluent and competent in ASL. I retired after 39 years of full-time professor of ASL at San Diego Mesa College. I have taught ASL 1 to ASL 4, ASL Fingerspelled Signs, Deaf Culture and Implications of Deafness courses. Currently I teach Deaf Culture as an online course at San Diego Mesa College.
I received my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from University of Southern California (USC) in 2004. I have two master's degrees from California State University, Northridge and they are Deaf Education and Educational Administration. I graduated from Gallaudet University (College) majoring in Business Administration.
Growing up, I attended California Schools for the Deaf in Riverside and Berkeley.
My objective is to provide students an opportunity to learn and use ASL with Deaf students, adults, friends, and family members. I enjoy seeing students improve with constructive feedback and encouragement to fine tune their expressive, spatial and receptive skills.
