Supernaws Schooling

Hi everyone! My name is Sadie Supernaw and I am currently a high school teacher in northern California. I teach health, physical education, and weight training. Before specializing in physical education, I worked in numerous different school districts, teaching multiple subjects for kindergarten through eighth grade students. My teaching career started in the special education department my first year out of college. While figuring out what I wanted to do with my degree, I immediately got started in the school district. I worked for after school Kids Club programs, started working in the resource center for special needs students and then got my substitute teaching license shortly after. I very quickly realized that teaching was what I was meant to do. I went back to school to get my teaching license, while substitute teaching at the same time. My student teaching experience was a little different as it happened during the year of Covid. I became the “zoom” teacher for a school district, and I actually got experience teaching grades kindergarten through fifth for a variety of subjects for any and all students who did not want to or were not able to come back to school. While I ultimately ended up teaching physical education at the local high school, I would’ve also loved to teach anywhere from K through eighth grade.

A little bit about me…I graduated with a degree and exercise and sports science in 2017 from Western Colorado University. I have always been passionate about health and fitness and helping others, especially when it is related to that field. I coach basketball volleyball and softball at the same school I teach at. I am very motivated, easy-going, and friendly. I feel I have much success with my students because I am able to relate to them. I like to genuinely get to know my students, as I feel that is the best way to help them learn. I believe truly successful teachers are those that take the time to make connections with their students. I am currently teaching in the health department at my school, but I have missed emerging younger students and other subjects. That is why I am looking at becoming a tutor to help students in other areas that I feel very comfortable and qualified to teach! Please reach out to me if questions, I would love to help you learn!
