About

I have a bachelors in Mathematics from the University of Redlands and am in process of a Masters in Education at USC (University of Southern California) with teachig credentials attached to my Masters. I have 4+ years experience with gifted, struggling, disabled, disadvantaged, delinquent, and foster youth students in all core subjects that you would typically find in a community college, high school, middle school, or elementary school setting. No student scares me and I believe in a student centered approach to learning. I have reasonable rates for the competitive market and change rates as the market changes. Depending on the level of math tutoring needed and distance traveled decides the rate trend I will follow. I do not charge the same amount for AP calculus and Algebra 1 students. I can travel to you or I can set up online if you prefer to save on travel expenses. If I travel to you, rates increase due to gas prices and travel time. If it is online tutoring, rates stay with the trend since neither party has to travel. I do not allow clients to drive to me for safety reasons.

Seeing my students succeed in their classes, on tests, essays, and more. Students come for help in their various subjects, but leave with more than that. I foster independent learning techniques that allow the student to grow in both knowledge and personal practice so that one day they will not need a tutor anymore (even though it puts me out o the job). Independent learning along with test taking strategy and preparation are only minor additions to my full tutoring experience with all of my students, regardless of subject. I love enhancing my practice as well as getting real feedback from my students so that when I enter the classroom, I can use these tutoring experiences as a window to a better classroom.

Frequently asked questions

My typical process involves learning about my new students learning styles, habits, and values. Making this connection ensures a proper tutoring experience that fosters independent learning practices over time while still being a provided support or boost for your math class.

I have a Bachelors in Mathematics and am in process for a Masters in Math Education at USC.

I have tutored for 5 + years varying from probational foster youth, disabled, gifted, and struggling students. I have tutored age ranges from 6 to 50+ both at cypress community college, through the student success partnership, and as a private tutor.

Pricing is ranged from 20 to 30 per session based on distance traveled, subject difficulty, and the amount of time wanted per session. I do not change my prices except for changing trends in the national tutoring market for those having my level of credential and experience. I do not count my masters yet since it is still in progress, but it will be completed in a few months.

I started tutoring and teaching in 11th grade of high school and have done it ever since. Teaching mathematics has been my chosen carrer path since then, and has not faultered. I am in process of an education masters, and once that is complete I will be in a classroom full time.

Student types I have worked with range from gifted to moderately disabled. I have experience with probational foster youth, disabled students on both the mental and physical aspect, gifted students getting ahead, emotionally challenged students needing tutoring and mentor support, and regular students just wanting a little extra help.
