As a former principal, counselor, and teacher, I believe in teaching and considering the "total" student. I want each student to know and believe that he/she is, in fact, "Awesome!"
Honestly, I love watching people of all ages discover and appreciate their unique talents and gifts. When we raise self confidence students allow themselves to try new ideas and concepts knowing that they may stumble sometimes, and that it is ok! We all stumble, that's how we learn.
I have a MS in counseling and an MA in Educational Administration. I've found the combination invaluable.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Meet with parents and student to establish goals.
Put the student at ease by showing a genuine interest, and exhibiting patience, and humor!! We laugh, but we stay on task!
Assess student's current ability, and performance level as it pertains to subject(s) being tutored. This is a fluid and ongoing process. Assessment and tutoring are not separate processes with me. I will adjust continually.
