As a recent youth development mentor with 8+ years of tutoring experience, I have worked with a variety of students between the elementary school curriculum to AP/Honors high school courses. I am committed to helping students achieve their academic and individual goals. My goal is to encourage all students to spark their self-confidence and curiosity in any subject, regardless of their background or any challenges that may prevent them from doing so.

Patricia tutored me in Calculus 1. She helped me so much throughout the year. Her way of explaining concepts very clear, and I am so happy to have improved my grade because of her help. Overall, Patricia is a great tutor, and I’d highly recommend her to anyone!

Patricia was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining formulas and helping me to solve them. She taught in a way that catered to my needs and made it easy for me to grasp the concepts. She is patient and encouraging.

Patty was an amazing tutor for physics. I was struggling a lot in my class and felt like I was behind, but she was able to clearly explain confusing concepts while providing additional examples to improve my critical thinking skills. She’s very accessible and goes above and beyond in making sure I understand the material.

    Frequently asked questions

I tend to get to know the student's current struggles, what their goals are, and formulate a game plan to help them achieve stated goals. Whether it is to move to a more advanced course in the future, passing an exam, laying a more solid foundation in particular concepts, I will do my best to adapt to their needs and help them excel academically and personally.

Since my sophomore year of high school, I have been tutoring fellow peers during after-school hours as well as my teammates in basketball. I've since expanded via teachers' and parents' referrals through word-of-mouth, assisting students from Pre-Algebra up to AP Calculus BC, and SAT math prep.

Depending on the subject, my prices range from $16-30/hour

I found that I learned best from my upperclassmen, they translated difficult concepts into digestible language and analogies for me, and I wish to do the same to help others.

I've worked with a wide range of students, from those whose English language is limited, to those with ADD, and honors/AP students.

I've recently become a pawrent to a french bulldog! He came home at 2 months at the end of the summer and is currently 6 months old. Training him every hour, to now several hours in between, has been an exhausting but rewarding and heartwarming experience.

Ask your potential tutor alot of questions, and try to be as specific as possible! Every individual has their own perspectives and thought process, so one method of explaining may mesh better with you than another's. As for being specific, for example, it helps us, as tutors when you ask:

"I'm unsure why I can form a slope intercept form from a graph." vs. "I don't know what slope-intercept form is."

The more you pin down what concept or detail you don't get, the more likely we can help you get over that obstacle!

Have I seen these type of problems before in previous homework, classwork, or notes?

Did my teacher give me resources through videos or my textbook to tackle this?

If I go through this step-by-step, what step did I get stuck on?
