I hope my passion for the subject of english and history stands out and even inspires you to see more in the subject than just a daunting task ahead of you. Everyone loves a juicy story or the latest tea and when it comes to history and english it is no different. Everything is all about perspective and if you have to study and learn this material for school than why not make it interesting. Hopefully I can be the person to do that for you!
I absolute love the subject of history and english because it feels like I get to study and research interesting stories. I love knowing where we come from and even in fiction writing there is some trope of truth being told to the audience that gives insight to our past or future. I love teaching and hope to make a career out of it someday and feel this is just a small but very important step in that pathway.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will always ask what the student is looking to get out of the tutoring session exactly. whether that may be what they are currently struggling with in the subject, any future subject matter,projects, or tests they may have coming up, or even just help them with the fundamentals of the subject if needed too. Depending on the students answer is how the lesson with continue but I will always give a brief overview of the subject matter, ask them if they have any questions, and further go into any details necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 2 years of working in a classroom being a teacher assistant. I have my teaching certificate as well as my Bachelor's in History from California State University. Having a background in history has not only given my an immense amount of knowledge regarding the subject but it has also provided and prepared me to become a professional researcher, writer, and editor. These skills expand my subject matter from not just subjects of History but as well as English and Communications. I also took multiple AP classes in high school and received no lower than a score of 4 out of 5 on all: literature, language and composition, US history, European history, world history, and statistics

25$ hourly rate for base subject matter in history, prices will rise depending on level of subject, or specific tasks needed help with
How did you get started teaching?
I originally was going to school to be an elementary school teacher and so I spent a year student teaching a first grade classroom as well as a semester student teaching/aiding in a special education classroom for the combined grade of kindergarten and first grade. While I was doing my student teaching COVID hit and so it gave me time to reevaluate and so I decided to switch my major to the single subject of history and hopefully teach older ages.
