About

I have a lot of experience in working with different types of students and I keep my tutoring methods very flexible. Being a full time scientist with a doctorate degree, I understand concepts at a very deep level and this allows me to simplify complex ideas very easily.

The most rewarding moment of teaching is when a student has that light-bulb-moment when they finally understand a complex concept.

Frequently asked questions

Over the years, I have come to realize that every student has their unique learning process. Therefore, to develop a personalized tutoring plan, I first determine the needs of the student and find out the best path for them to achieve their goals. For example, some students learn better with first understanding theory and then working on examples. Others learn better by working on examples and learning the concepts through the mistakes they make while solving problems.

I have a PhD in Chemistry from UC Berkeley and am currently working as a scientist at UC Los Angeles. At Berkeley, I taught several undergraduate and graduate level courses and have received the best instructor award and an award for developing novel teaching approaches to encourage learning among students.

I have primarily worked with high school students and undergraduates.

My area of expertise is math and science. I would encourage students to look for a teacher who can explain complex concepts in the simplest possible terms. Also, look for a teacher that is flexible in how they teach as every student learns differently.
