About

I truly believe that education is key to success, and therefore I love to tutor! My upbeat and patient personality, diverse background of knowledge, and creative approach to studying will enhance your experience during our tutor sessions. I love to bring in outside knowledge, tie different concepts together, and help encourage my students that some extra practice can go a long way. I will tailor each session to your personality and work hard to find what study type is right for you. We each have different personalities and therefore we cannot use a universal tutoring method for all students. I will prioritize working on your weaknesses but also plan on challenging your skills overall.

    Frequently asked questions

I received my Bachelors degree in general biology from Loyola Marymount University in 2014, and continued on to pursue a graduate degree immediately after. My passion for healthcare, community service, and medicine led me to the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health. From Pitt, I received my Master's of Public Health (MPH) degree in December of 2015. I majored in Infectious Diseases & Microbiology, with a concentration in Pathogenesis, Eradication, and Laboratory Practice. Alongside my MPH degree, I completed my Teaching Certificate at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education. My longterm goal is to become a physician and to use my education towards practicing medicine and conducting clinical research.

My passion for tutoring began when I was just a high school student many years ago. I attended a K-12 private school and decided it was time for high school students to offer their skills to our youth. I started a student club that specifically focused on reading and spelling in two languages. Throughout college, I tutored many underprivileged high school students as part of my service requirement. I also tutored a transitional kindergarten science class for a local elementary school, and worked in small groups to allow the children to start first grade without any holdbacks the following year. I was a teaching assistant for an upper division biology course at LMU, Invertebrate Zoology Lab. In addition to administering the weekly sessions and practical exams, I held review sessions before all exams for my students. Students who attended these sessions scored considerably higher than students who did not attend. In addition to organized tutoring sessions, I have tutored friends and family members in science for many years!
