About
Many tutors can help you memorize equations until you can get them right for a test, but how long will that information stick in your head? I approach learning from the ground up. Together with my students, we find the root of where understanding takes place. I help you identify exactly where the gaps in knowledge are so that we can fill them in and you see the full picture. When we appraoch learning this way, there's less to memorize, and you understand more for the long run.
With 9 years of experience tutoring both in person and online, I've learned how to help you learn efficiently. I've refined my skills in explaining complex ideas over Zoom for many years pre-pandemic, so online lessons are second nature.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
You can expect our first lesson to be broken down into a few common segments.
First, I like to get to know my student a bit before diving into work.
We then discuss challenging areas of the material, and we discuss which type of subjects and learning style the student enjoys.
I lead my student through the understanding of the current material, and we aim at finding concepts and process.
We work through practice problems together to ensure the concepts can be applied for each student.
It is often helpful to email information such as where the student is in his or her course, what's been enjoyable so far, and what needs extra focus.
