Hello! I'm an experienced tutor with over six years of experience in tutoring general chemistry, bio, and math up to precalc. What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I almost always will schedule a meet and greet type session before the actual session so students and/or their parents and I can communicate. I can answer questions about myself and ask questions about the student and their needs. Otherwise I will ask the student a directly during a session about what class they are taking, what topics they need help with, and what they struggle with in general.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a bachelors degree in Animal Science which is where my strong background in science comes from. Along with tutoring for over 6 years now

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $40/hr for individual sessions. Group sessions which are 3+ students depend on the number of students.

How did you get started teaching?

It was a side job in college that turned into a full time job when it turned out I was good at it.

What types of students have you worked with?

Usually college and high school students with the occasional middle school student. I have worked with students with disabilities in the past though I have no special training to do so.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Never trust anyone who guarantees you a particular grade. Also be very detailed on what you need help with as chemistry classes can vary in content and difficulty.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What do you need help with most? This is considering not only what subject but what type of problems. For example is the struggle with concepts or with math. Also how do you want the sessions to go.
