About
I enjoy seeing students making rapid progress in what they formerly thought impossible.
I became addicted to teaching in my early 20's. There is no greater joy than the expansion of young minds.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I explain my reading intervention to parents and their children and perform some simple and painless diagnostics to illustrate how the method works.
My name is Timothy Winey. I started out life as a professional musician (Violinist). I then fell in love with reading theory after going to work for the US Dept. of Defense schools in the UK. Over time I developed an iron-clad method for teaching dyslexic children to read, write and spell. The difference before my baseline and subsequent reading comprehension test scores were so high, that the company who administered the computer tests told me my scores fell outside the acceptable range for growth and would be rejected in any statistical analysis. In short, I would be accused of cheating with such score differentials. I can teach a typical ‘dyslexic’ child to read, write and spell at grade level, in roughly 6 contact hours. My method is far faster and more reliable than even the most expensive and intensive clinical interventions.
Letter from Robert J Sweet:
Thanks for sending these along Tim. My goodness, you are a cosmopolitan man....musician, inventor, teacher extraordinaire, and most of all, a caring teacher for children who without your expert instruction would end up facing life without the most important skill of all....the ability to read proficiently with fluency and understanding. I have been honored to be your colleague in the fight to restore research based reading instruction to our schools for several years. Thank you for the insights and understanding I have gained from our "cross ocean" interaction.
