Simplified Math
About
I have a B.S. in engineering so I am used to some of the highest levels of math. All through my school career I led tutoring groups and helped many of the kids around me pass their classes.
i enjoy getting to know kids and helping them break the math down into easier to understand pieces, and nothing makes me more happy than to learn that they passed their most recent test!
I most enjoy seeing the improvement that people make over time. There’s nothing quite like having someone struggle with something, working hard at it, and finally having all those pieces click into place. Hearing that one of my students got taken out of the remedial math class and put back into the normal one made me happy for a month.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I’m very results based. I prefer to start by working together on a couple of homework assignments in order to gain an understanding of where they are and where they need to be. As we do this, I’ll often find where some of their gaps are and I’ll research extra lessons for us to work on in order to close those gaps. Then it may just be a matter of giving the student enough practice problems so that they can really get the strategy down.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
