Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work by customizing the student's needs and intertwining those needs into my own unique ways of explaining math. I believe that it is most beneficial to treat math as a language to learn. Every problem really tells a story, and a strong math student knows how to explain back the problem and their solution.

BS in Mathematics from CSU East Bay
CA Teaching credential
Many years' teaching and tutoring experience

Choose somebody who feels natural with you. Feeling comfortable is essential to a succesfully working tutor/student relationship.
Have as many specific problems ready to work on. Try to get good at forming specific questions about these problems.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your exact needs: cramming for a test? increasing your math understanding overall, or for a particular type of problem? help with homework? supplementary knowledge? and such.
