UCLA Undergrad Tutor
About
I tailor my sessions to each student's specific needs and ensure that they get the help they need. I look for weaknesses in students' learning and listen to their frustrations with education before deciding how to nurture their success.
I have made students feel more confident in their abilities over the years, and I love helping others in any way I can.
Hi, I'm Mia, and I am a philosophy major and professional writing minor at UCLA! I got where I am today thanks to those who tutored me, and I, in turn, have guided others to help them achieve their goals. I understand what it's like to grow frustrated with a subject, and I know how to help others who struggle as I did.
The subjects I enjoy the most tend to be the ones where I was in a supportive environment, surrounded by people who made the topics enjoyable. I know how to make just about anything engaging for students, and I can teach students to excel. I've spent years tutoring, whether it be informally through helping friends or in a formal tutor setting, and I have learned how to identify weak spots in students' learning to target in our sessions.
I cannot wait to help you with your needs, and feel free to contact me! I love watching others succeed and knowing I aided them in accomplishing their goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to spend the first session getting to see the students and hearing from them what they think they need help with. After that, I plan the next sessions to address their concerns and come up with the most efficient plan for success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a tutor since 2018, mainly helping with writing, editing, and reading in English. I have helped with various writing styles and I am more than capable of teaching others how to improve upon their own skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
